What's in the pack

Your daily pack, four capsules, each with a job to do.

  • 1× Core Essential Multivitamin, Pre-Conception & 1st Trimester. The foundation for this stage, with folate in two forms, iron, iodine, choline, B12 and vitamin D, in forms your body absorbs well. Folate supports maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.
  • 2× Algae oil (from microalgae Schizochytrium sp.), with natural peppermint. DHA and EPA from a clean, vegan source. Your DHA intake supports your baby's normal brain and eye development.
  • 1× Magnesium bisglycinate. A gentle, well-absorbed form. Supports normal muscle function and helps reduce tiredness.
Why start early?

Your body begins some of its most important work in the first few weeks, often before a positive test. Folate is central to that early development, which is why it matters from the moment you start trying, not only once pregnancy is confirmed.

Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing baby. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental intake of 400 micrograms of folic acid, taken for at least one month before and up to three months after conception. Prepare gives you folate in two forms, because they do different jobs.

  • Active folate (5-MTHF) is the form your body uses straight away, no conversion needed. It helps close the everyday gap that most women have in their diet
  • Folic acid (400 mcg) is the form public health guidance specifically recommends before and during early pregnancy, for the neural tube benefit above.

Together, they cover both your daily folate needs and the pregnancy-specific protection that matters most in the earliest weeks.
Nutrients

From planning through the first trimester, the right nutrients support you and your baby. Here's what each one does.

  • Folate, in active (5-MTHF) and folic acid forms, supports maternal tissue growth during pregnancy and normal blood formation. Við vorum búin að reyna að verða ólétt í 1,5 ár. Búin að fara í ýmis tjékk en niðurstaðan var sú að þetta væri óútskýrð ófrjósemi. Ég byrjaði að taka Venja bætiefni fyrir konur á breytingarskeiði í vetur. Ég er 55 ára og komin á breytingarskeið og hef verið að glíma við mjög mikinn þurrk í húð og nöglum. Ég á það t. d. til að fá mjög slæmar sprungur á fingurna og neglurnar á mér klofna og rifna við minnsta álag. Eftir að ég byrjaði að taka bætiefnin frá Venja lagaðist húðin til muna og sprungurnar gréru hratt. Eins sá ég mikinn mun á nöglunum.
